LAKE ROTOKARI.
To the Editor of the Star. Sir, —l do not deny that the Eotokari reserve would be a great boon as a water supply for Hawera ; but considering that Major Atkinson, who has represented us for years in Parliament and has been in office so many times, has never obtained Lake Rotokarias a reserve for the borough, surely it is ridiculous and absurd;for the Hawera people to ask a person like Mr. McGuire to use his influence in the matter. If Major Atkinson could not get it fcr us, I am sure Mr. McGuire need not trouble himself. But it is a new instance of tbe old adage that ".Fools-walk in where angels fear to tread.—l am, &c, Aim-McGmßi
