It is a surprisingly creditable l>roduction for a small town like H.iwera, and tlie compilers and printers may reasonably foul satibfled with their work. Tbe almanack contains a great variety of the most usohil information, and consists of no fewer than 261 pu^cs, not including advertisements.. — Wellington Press. We have to acknowledge receipt of tlie Hawkka Star Almanack for 1887. This Almanack, which is published by Messrs. limes & Co., of Hawera, lias long enjoyed a reputation for being carefully compiled, and we notice tbat the new edition is full of useful information. — Wellington Post. The Star Almanack for this year, printed and published by Messrs. Innes and Co., of Hawera ■would do credit to any of the large offices in the principal commercial centres of the colony. Compiled with ability and care, adapted to the wants of everyone, and containing 261 pages of printed matter omitting advertisements, the Star Almanack should find a place in every household throughout the district in which it is published. — Wanganui Chronicle. We acknowledge receipt from Messrs. lures and Co., of a copy of the Star Almanack for 1887. As usual, the publication contains much useful information, and should be found very valuable by every settler along tbis coast. It contains very correct directories of the towns of New Plymouth, Waitara, etc, as well as Hawera, Normanby, and other places. Every year this valuable almanack shows marked improvement, and we must congratulate the publishers on tins evidence of success. The almanack is printed in firs,t-class style, ou excellent paper, and we can safely say that the general " got up " is equal to that of any similar publication in the Colony. — Taranaki News. We have to acknowledge with thanks the receipt from the publishers, of a copy of the Star Almanack. It is impossible to give anything like an adequate idea of the real utility of the work, for it contains 261 pages of matter, exclusive of advertisements, and every page conveys some useful information to the reader. In fact it is rapidly becoming a settler's vadc mecum, and can give points to any almanack published on this coast.— Patea Mail.
