NORMANBY HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

As a special Supplement there is issued with to-day's Staii a full catalogue of the classes of exhibits for the forthcoming Norimmy Horticultural Show, to bo held on March 17th. It is iio exaggeration to axy that the schedule is one of the most complete ever issued in this island. Fortunately, the quality of the exhibits merits the care and trouble bestowed upon the show by the committee. In fact, we venture to express a belief that there is no other show in JN'ew Zealaud at which garden

vegetables as a class are so excellent or the exhibits so numerous. In potatoes and other root crops the show has been, in past >ears, quite equal to some of the best in England, and last year the fruit was also of high quality It is for these reasons, aud because of Lhe attention and careful financial management, that the Normanby Flower Show has now grown to be au institution to which all lovers of fruits and flowers look forward with yearly increasing interest. The steps the committee have this year taken to bring their schedule of prizes more immediately under the eye of nearly all the settlers throughout this district should ensure for it thi« year even greater popularity than ever before The through railway communication will also tend to make it easier tor exhibitors from a distance to patronise the show, and such may make sure of a hearty welcome. We would press on the committee the necessity for affording a little more space than last year. A marquee of some sort should be readily obtaiuable
