NORMANBY TOWN BOARD.

A meeting of tbe above board was held at 2 o'clock on Monday, the 17th inst. Present— Messrs. Morrison (chairman), A. G. Brett, Hunger, and England.

The minutes of the adjourned meeting were read and confirmed.

Resolved, That tbe list of mileage of county roads be sent to the County Council with letter, requesting payment

Resolved, That the clerk 'write to Mr. G. B. Hankey, District Railway Manager, re Blake-street crossing,' and that he forward the following resolution : Proposed by Mr. Hunger, and seconded by Mr. Brett, That the railway department be requested to take immediate steps to have Stapp-street opened to the public. Carried. A letter waa read from Mr. Hunger and others, requesting to have a culvert put in opposite section 73, HobsonBtreet.

Moved by Mr. England, and seconded by Mr. Brett, That tho culvert as requested be put in, and that the engineer be directed to take steps in the matter. Carried. Be culvert in Egmont-street, opposite section 341, it was resolved that the overseer take steps to have the work done as soon as possible.

The following accounts were presented : — James Hayward, .£7 14s ; same, for tools, etc , 15s 2d ; Rye M6s 3J ; A. Brown, £3 9s ; Matthews, £1 2s ; F. J. Gane, 9s 6d ; Payne. £1 Is ; Lovo. £1 Is. All these were passed for payment with tbo exception of the first of James Hayward's, £7 14s. Concerning this it was moved by Mr. England, and seconded by Mr. Brett, that Mr. Hayward's cheque be passed for payment, but that it be held over until communication be received from the Deputy Official Assignee in the matter. Carried. Resolved, That Mr. Meredith take the necessary steps to collect rates and dog tax, and tbat he be authorised to sue for all licenses and rates outstanding.

Resolved, That the resolution passed at tho board's meeting on January 29th, re cattle trespassing on the streets, be strictly enforced.

Resolved, That tbe Colonial Secretary be written to re hawkers' licenses. The meeting then adjourned sine die.
