WELLINGTON, August 22. The industrial branch of the Exhibition was opened tp-day, very successfully. Thomas' cantata, about which there has been so much fuss,, was performed. This ' piece of. music has been the source of numerous- growls, here by the musical fraternity*. The Governor, speaking after' the performance,. said.Jhe did not profess to be 4 a musical critic, bnt he knew what he Hkedy -and he had been delighted with the performance. • He^ shopk hands with and warmly congratulated Thomas, amid great cheering. ;
