MR. NEWTON KING'S REPORT. New Plymouth, January 24. Haymarket Yards. — Pigs came forwards freely, and sold satisfactorily. Slips made 6s 6d to 8s 6d ; stores 13s to 18s. "Five hacks were sold at prices varying from 20s to £7 2s 6d. Fruit.— At Monday's sale, bidding was active. Cooking apples, 5s to 6s 6d; eating do, 8b to 10s ; greengages, 8s to 10s ; apricots, 8s to 12s ; plums, 10s. Produce. — A considerable quantity of keg butter has been cleared from farmers' bands daring the week, principally at 8d ; in a few cases a trifle more bas been given, bnt owing to rather unsatisfactory news from Sydney on Thursday, the market is not so firm, and 8d is now outside value.
