MR. NEWTON KING'S REPORT. JJbw Px.TarooTH> Friday. Ha^tnat^et Yards.— On Saturday last pigs were well competed for, and made Tery good prices. Slips made from 6s 6d to 8s ; pigß, medium, 10s to 12s ; 2 hacks, each Lm. Cattle.— At the Waiwakaiho Yards on Thursday, a good number of cattle were yarded, the bidding was moderately active, and prices altered but little from last market. Big steeds were in more request, and any forward dairy cattle sold well. The sheep yarded were nearly all of an inferior description ; only about half were sold. Calves made from 15s to 20s; yearlings, 20b to 26s ; 18-month-olds, LI 10s to LI 17s ; 2-year-oldß steers, L 2 15s ; 21 to 3-year-olds, L 3 10s to L 3 15s ; springing heifers, L 3 15s to L 4 15s ; cows, L4to L 6 5b ; Hoggets, 7s 6d ; lamhs, poor, 4s 6d ; ewes, old, 5s lOd. Produce. — Salt butter remains unaltered, Sydney advices being favorable. Potatoes are now coming forward freely, and ore of excellent quality ; quotation at L 3 10s to L 4.
