ENGLAND, •JNormanby. GPOETING NEWS. SECOND GRAND DEAWING IS NOW OPEN ! First Drawing for £2000 on the Hamburg principle filled up before the advertised time. The money will be returned for the large number of applications that came too late for the first drawing, or programmes will be forwarded for Second Drawing. The Second Drawing is now open, for the grand and equal distribution of Money Peizes, amounting to £3000, to be drawn the same as in Hamburg and other Continental Cities. This Second Drawing will take place not later than the end of April, or earlier if filled, and the Third Drawing will open Ist May. These Grand Drawings will take place every two months. Over 3000 applications for programmes are now registered for the Second Drawing. The Company were induced to make this Second Drawing for £3000 in consequence of the first having filled ao rapidly, also to enable them to give larger prizes. This Second Drawing will consist of 240 MONET PEIZES, amounting to £3000, subscribed by 6000 members at 10s each. The various Monet Peizes will be distributed as follows : — 1 £300 Peize ; 1 £150 Peize ; 1 £100 Peize; 2 £60 Peizes; 10 £30 Peizes; 4 £25 Peizes; 20 £20 Peizes ; 20 £15 Peizes ; G5 £10 Peizes; 116 £5 Peizes. Total amount, £3000. 240 Money Prizes. The grand principle of these Hamburg Drawings is that a purchaser of 25 programmes is guaranteed a prize, as it is so drawn that a prize must come out to every 25 numbers, and the chances are in favor of the investor drawing a large prize, as there are 124 large prizes against 116 small ones. To any investor of £2 the chances are only 6 to 1 against him drawing a prize, and the Head Prize or any other may be drawn by any investor of 10s. The large bulk of the money in this Grand Drawing is not given away iv one big prize, as it is in the Horse Consultations, but you will observe in this Hamburg Drawing that £3000 ia fairly proportioned into 240 Prizes, giving every shareholder au equal chance of getting a good prize. This Hamburg Drawing is on the most novel, and will be conducted on the fairest principle possible, so as to give entire public satisfaction. This Second Drawing for £3000 will take place under the supervision of a committee of eight gentlemen, and the prizes will be paid over as early as possible after the drawing. By using this powerful and effective ointment, the necessity for clipping the hair before applying the blister is avoided. No horse* will gnaw the blistered surface ; no cradle, therefore, required, and no blemish possible. Testimonial — Lord Anglesey begs to inform Mr. Brown that he has received a very favorable report from his stable servants of the blistering ointment with which he furnished them. They state that the blister acts powerfully without taking off the hair. — Beaudesert, January 5, 1849.
