During October 160 new installations, a big percentage of which were houses, were connected to the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board's system.
The number of consumers is now 22,725, compared with 21,076 in October last year, an increase of 1049 or 7.83 per cent. Other increases are: —Domestic installations, 20,396 (18,914 last: year), increase of 14 82 or 7.84 per cent.; commercial installations, 2129 =(1945), increase of 175 or 9 per cent.; industrial installations, 927 (856), increase of 71 or 8,80 per cent.; ranges connected, 10,852 (9521), increase of 1331 or 13.98 per cent.; water heaters connected, 11,682 (10,282), increase of 1400 or 13.61 per cent.; connected load in kilowatts, 261,485 (230,211), increase of 31,274 or 13.5*9 per cent.; combined system K.V.A. peak for quarter to date, 25,532 (24,684), increase of 848 or 3.43 per cent.; units for period (4 weeks), 8,974,111 (8,548,985), increase of 425,126 or 4.97 per cent.; units for financial year to date, 73,767,095 (63,153,233), increase of 10,6613,862 of 16.8 per cent.
