BOXING
TAITA CLUB At the Taita Boxing Club’s wind-up for the year a most enjoyable evening was spent by pupils, parents and friends. Several boxing bouts were staged and some very scientific boxing was witnessed, especially amongst the younger boys. Great credit is due to the trainer, Tommy Dunn, as some of these boys started boxing this year. Club trophies were won by the following:—President’s Cup: D. McLean and T. McGory. It was impossible to separate these boys, so each holds the cup for six months. Sportsmanship: T. Birder. Best gym. boy: Senior, P. Larkin; junior, P. Gemmell.
After the presentation of trophies ice cream and soft drinjts were served to the boys and supper to their parents and friends. Later presentations were made to the trainers, Messrs. Dunn and Grimstrop. Supper arrangements were carried out by Mesdames O’Connor, Simpson and Dunn. Mr. Hill donated the cost of the supper to the club.
