PLUNKET MOTHERS' CLUB
.The commendable total of £6O 16s 6d was reached when members of the Central Mothers’ Club held their special annual effort to raise funds for Plunket work in their district by holding a combined shle of work and musical evening. Members and their friends gathered at the home of Mrs. N. Liebezeit .which was kindly lent for the occasion. In the vestibule they thronged the stall on which were displayed articles made and donated by members and by local business firms, ft'ml then passed on to tire lounge to enjoy items contributed by such popular performers as the trio of Lister sisters, Mrs. Halligan and Mrs. Liebezeit. A welcome was extended to visitors by Mrs. France, president, who thanked all present for the generosity of their giving and spending and the artists for the excellence of their performance. Each performer received a posy or spray 0f... flowers. Winners of competitions were: Competitions, Mrs. Growcott, Mrs. Judd; pottery vase, Mrs. Meagher; coffee table, Mrs. Maclndoe; organdie baby set, Mrs. J. Tocker; nylon baby frock, Mrs. Sullivan; floral cushion-, Mrs. Lock; taffeta cushion, Mrs. Sharpe. Supper served by the hostesses was the final item of a profitable and enjoyable meeting.
