ELECTRIFICATION EFFECTS

Referring to the electrification of the Hutt railway at the last meeting of the "Wellington Housewives’ Association, the president, Mrs. F. Gilmore, said that the housewives should not be penalised through any enterprise of that magnitude. A member expressed the opinion that the electrification was for conserving coal, and another that it was for maintaining the industrial life.
