Petone Ramp
♦> LIABILITY FOR COST
In referring to the question of contribution towards the cost of the Petone ramp, at a recent meeting of the joint committee representing Hutt Valley municipalities, Mr. E. P. Hay, Mayor of Lower Hutt, said that the Hon. W. Nash had recently intimated to him that consideration of this matter by the local bodies concerned was a matter of urgency. He, however, felt, said Mr, Hay, that the Government was committed to this overhead ramp and the onus was on it to come forward with its suggestions regarding contribution towards the cost.
Mr. A. iM, Macfarlane, Mayor of Petone, reported that Petone had asked the Minister to convene a meeting with regard to this matter. The chairman said that in those circumstances they would await further word from the Minister.
