Theft of Bible

CHURCH OF CHRIST An unusual theft has been imported to the Lower Hutt police, a Bible having disappeared from the pulpit of the Church of Christ, Queen’s Road. The Bible was in use on Sunday week, but when it was needed last Sunday it could not be found. As the doors of the church are kept locked except when a meeting is being held in the adjacent hall, it is presumed that the theft occurred while such a meeting was in progress. Intruders entered the church about .two years ago, but were disappointed owing to the fact that no money is kept there. One wonders at the mentality of a person—of whatever age—who would enter a church and steal a Bible.
