The official opening of the ne\\ Hutt Intermediate School last week marked another stage ir.
the development of education in the Hutt Valley. It is not jusl another school; it is an experiment in bridging the gap between the primary schools and the secondary schools, . and with its specialised training it should do much to fit the pupils not only for their further education but for their eventual place in community life. The school has opened under the happiest conditions. A fine, well-equipped building, extensive playing fields, under the direction of a capable and enthusiastic headmaster and staff and with the strong backing of parents and friends, the school starts with ' every promise of being a great success. There ;s little doubt that that promise will be fulfilled. Lower Hutt welcomes the Hutt Intermediate School, and hopes that it will be followed by those other primary schools which the rapid growth of the-, district has made so necessary.
