J HUTT v. EASTERN HUTT j Junior Grade Playing as a team Hutt defeated Eastern Hutt by 19-3 at Epuni School on Saturday. Hutt kicked off and it took some time tor play to settle down as both teams were playing and tackling solidly. Hutt were first to score when Hurley went over wide out. The kick missed. Eastern Hut* tried hard to even the score, but the Hutt backs, fed well from the scrum by Papanui, penetrated far down into Eastern Hutt territory and from loose play Gordon put the bail in the air and, last following up, he scored. Collins converted. Halftime sounded Hutt 8, Eastern Hutt 0. The second half opened with really bright football by both sides, but Eastern just couldn’t score. Hill was next to score for Hutt after . eluding about four tackles. The kick missed. Hutt added another 8 points in quick succession in tries by Dalton and Collins, one or which was converted by Collins. Eastern Hutt were rewarded shortly afterwards in a try by Wellwood. Tho final score was Hutt 19, Eastern Hutt 3. Mr. Greening was referee. The draw for next Saturday is:—Senior Reserve, v. Waterside; Junior, v. Petone.
