HAPPINESS CLUB
CHILD EMERGENCY CENTRE Some months ago funds were lais-d by the Hutt Happiness Club by means of a Queen Carnival for "Transit House." to be used as the headquarters for the good' work being done in the care of children while mothers are in hospital, etc. Difficulty was found in getting premises in the Valley, but the Petone Borough Council has now given the club the use of an office in the rest room in Bay Street. This wili be officially opened on June 15. in order to avoid confusion with the various transit housing schemes the name of "Transit. House" has been changed to C.E.C. (Child's Emergency Centre). The Happiness Club would like to receive a (('sv more offers of temporary homes tor children. Those interested should communicate with Mrs. 11. earner. I<i Wai-iti Avenue, Lower Hutt.
