OBITUARY

CHARLES WALTER ROBINSON Mr. Charles Walter Robinson, whose death occurred on Thursday morning after a very short illness, was a prominent cricketer about 30 years ago. A fast bowler, he represented Wellington both before and after the Great War, and went to Australia with the New Zealand team in 1913-14. His early days as a cricketer were spent in the Wellington Bo>s" League together with such well-known players as C. V. Grimmett. W. A. Baker, and H. McGirr. Later be played for Y.M.C.A. During the war he played in service matches in England. For some years Mr. Robinson was a member of the choir of St. Peter's Church. He was due to retire shortly from the Post and Telegraph Department. He is survived by a daughter (Nola) and two sons (Eric and Ray). The funeral, which was very largely attended, took place on Friday afternoon, the services at the chapel and graveside being conducted by the Rev. Cole. At tbe graveside a short service was also conducted by Mr. C. Kitto on behalf of the R.S.A.
