SPONSORED FOR JAMBOREE ROVER HANDED £IOO A pleasing ceremony took place at the conclusion of the Mower showon Thursdav evening, when members of the committee met at an informal gathering Cor (1»»* purpose of meeting Hover Scout Roy Bridge. whom the Society had undertaken to sponsor a-; their representative to the Scoui Jamboree. In making the presentation of a cheque for £IOO. the convenor of the committee, -Mr. W. H. Wilsou, thanked all who had assisted in the Society's effort and especially Mr-. Harding .Morris, who had been indefatigable in helping the Society to attain its objective. Mr. Wilson said that the Society bad adopted Roy as its son, and by arming him with membership tickets to the Royal Horticultural Society of London and a letter of introduction to its secretary be would have the advantage of all privileges of the Royal Horticultural Society and contacts with leading horticulturists of the world. The Lower Hutt Society would look forward with interest to bearing of Roy's travels and to a personal account of bis experiences on bis return. He wished him ben voyage, a safe return, and every success in bis venture. The guest of the evening expressed his thanks and appreciation to members of tiie Society for what iiad been done for him, and was accorded musical honours.
