COUNCILLOR'S DEPARTURE

♦;. MR. J. B. YOUNG" RESIGNS

At Monday night's meeting of the Lower Hutt City Council Councillor J. B. Young tendered his resignation, as he is leaving the district. The .Mayor, Mr. J. W. Andrews, thanked Mr. Young for his past services, and expressed regret at his departure. The Council was sorry to lose him, and wished him well in his new location.

Mr. H. Shearer was appointed to fill the vacancy on the Council caused by Mr. Young's resignation. It was stated by the Mayor that Mr. Shearer was one of the same group of retailers as Mr. Young, and it was therefore- considered that his appointment would be very suitable.
