Nash M.P. for Hutt, on Saturday afternoon. The school -has twelve classrooms, each seating 30 pupils. Mr Nash, said that other necessar. schools will be built as soon as labou and materials are available. Congratulations upon the opening of the school were extended by Mr J. G. Aitken, school commissioner; Mr. N. R. Seddon, chairman of the. Wellington Education Board; and Mr. I?'. A. Long, headmaster. The new school was occupied on Monday. Taita School The Wellington Education Board has received advice that grants for the acceptance ot a tender for the construction of the foundations ol a new six-roomed school on the grounds of the existing Taita School have been approved by Cabinet. The undertaking of ground improvement work at the sciiool also has been approved. Work on Taita No. 1 School is under way, and a contract has been le't for the construction of No. 2 school. Work will start on the latter in the very near future. A start has been made on the building of an eight-roomed school in Dyer Street.
