Naenae Bowling Club

SECOND ANNUAL OPENING A very large and representative gathering of bowlers and friends attended the official opening of the Nuenac Bowling Club’s greens. Mr. H. Judd, president, extended his thanks to all. including the following representatives: The Mayor. Mr. J. W. Andrews: the president of the N.Z. Bowling Council, Mr. T. Lock; the president, of the Wellington Bowling Centre, Mr. W. Had win, and Messrs. Norrie and Casey, centre delegates, who addressed the gathering. Mr. W. Nash gave a very interesting talk in the pavilion at afternoon tea. . . Bouquets were presented-to women of the official party by Miss Janet Houlr. Mrs. H. Judd, wife of the president, threw up the kitty and bowled the first bowl. The season was then declared open. Greens in Good Older , The greens are in ; exceptionally good order, but owing to recent rain Only, a few heads were played. The afternoon tea was in the capable bands of the croquet members. The tables, decorated with spring flowers, looked most attractive, and the president, extended his congratulations and thanks for their efforts. The Hutt Valley High School Boys’ Band, under the conductorship of Mr. T. Gray, rendered selections which were much appreciated. Thanks were extended to the various committees for their splendid work during the past season: A magnificent shield' for championship fours was presented to the club by Messrs. W. H. Lees and Co., for which the club extends its

thanks to the donors.
