WOBURN CROQUET CLUB

CLOSING DAY OF SEASON Woburn members were disappointed to see the rain for their closing day, but it certainly did not dampen their ardour for fun and games in the pavilion, that bright and energetic veteran, Mrs. L. Monks, club secretary, being well to the fore. The table decorations were very attractive, the arrangements being due to Mesdames Brown and Glennie, consisting of the club colours in flowers and the unique centrepiece being of real turf, surrounded with flower buds, on the grass a miniature croquet set ready for play. The whole effect was very realistic. At the conclusion of afternoon tea the president, Mrs. Brown, addressed the members and then called on Mrs. J. August to present the prizes, Mrs. R. Glennie, second year player, carrying off many trophies and deserving special mention for her most improved play.

Mr. A. Gerrie, president of the Woburn Bowling Club, thanked one and all-for their 1 help and co-opera-tion, hoping the winter 'months would soon speed by and so bring

them togetiilr' again [ for a'flother happy season.
