■ ■/. ' ■ j'- ' ..-.V 105 PROSECUTIONS I A particularly heavy day at the Petone Court last week saw 165 motor drivers prosecuted for breaches of the traffic regulations. Most of the offences were for not having a drivers' license, warrants of witness, etc., a result of a check-up being made recently by traffic inspectors. Messrs J. Huggan and L. Powell, J.P's, presided, and fines ranging from 10/- up to £3 were imposed on 160 offenders. Five cases were adjourned.

A further 76 breaches of the Traffic Regulations were heard in the Petone Court before Messrs O. Silbery and W. A. Fisher, J.Ps's on Tuesday. Most of tHe charges involved no warrants of fitness or no drivers' licenses. Fines totalling neatly £40 were imposed on offenders charged with these breaches. Other charges, concernied 'excessive spped, exceeding the weight limit, and failing to keep to Hie loit.
