EPUNI CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY

A meeting, sponsored by the Epuni Resident s Association, was held in the Epuni School on 24th of July last to discuss the formation of a Co-operative Society in the area The meeting was addressed by Mr. Syder, president, Manawatu Consumers' Co-operative Society and by Mr. Wm. Robertson, Wellington representative of the Co-operative Infor mation Service, iPalmerston North, on the subject of Co-operative Societies. Mrs. Linde Bennett and Mr. G-. A. Brown, co-secretaries of the Co-op-erative Information Service and Mr.M. Entwhistle its field organiser were also present and answered many questions. A motion to set up a provisional committee to explore the possibilities of terming a Society caused con-* siderable debate, but was eventually carried by a large majority. The following committee members were elected and are to report back, with recommendations, to a general meeting of subscribers, within the month: Chairman, Mr. H. R.
