When flying seagulls caused ; a I break in one of tlie , Hutt Valley Power Board's 6,600 volt lines.near Whiteman's Valley recently, the broken wire fell upon a large number of pigs feeding below it and 33 of the animals were killed. When the incident was reported to the recent meeting of tlxe Power Board, there were prompt enquiries from members as to the possibility of securihg some ot' the resultant "roast pork." However, the chairman explained that as the pigs had not been properly "bled" at the time of their demise, their food value was nil and he understood that all the carcases had been buried.
