LOCAL BRANCH FORMED ■ A large gathering of electricians attended the inaugural meeting for the 1 purpose of forming a local branch of the N.Z. Institute of Electrieians. I The meeting was held in the SoI cial Hall of N.Z. Motor Bodies, Pet tone. Mr Forbes Gilmour, the vicepresident of the N.Z. Institute, presided and was accompanied by K Messrs F. Harrison (Wellington, preC. H. McKeijch (Welling treasurer), H. L. Keys (Wellsecretary) and F. M. Stace ■fc(N.Z. Electrical Journal) HP .. After a full and interesting dis- * cussion on the ideals and constitution of the Institute, it was unanimously decided to immediately form a local branch under the title of 1 "The Hutt Valley Branch of the N.Z Institute of Electricians." / The following officers were elected by the general meeting:—President, Mr. C. Hi. Mitchell; vice-president, * Mr. E. T; Clifford; executive committee: Messrs A. Taylor, S. H. Palmer, G. Downes, O. Feisst, J. O'Conr nell and J. „B. .Grey (programme organiser) ; secretary, Mr. C. H. McKeich; treasurer, Mr. F. G. Davidson trustees: Messrs W. Fitzgex*ald and 3D." Aair; auditor, Mr. P. N. Wansobrough. The next general meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 14th, and it is hoped that a good muster will be present, as in addition to routine business a most interesting programme is being arranged. Sound movies will be shown on two electrical subjects which should prove of great interest. In addition a third firm will be shown of electrical and other exhibits at the World Fair, which was held in New York. The time and place of this general meet-ing-will be advertised later.
