The secretary of the Lower Hutt Red. Cross (Mrs. J Fletcher) acknowledges with grateful thanks a donation of 10/- from Keith and Peter Fullford, of Boulcott School. At the recent annual meeting of .the Hutt Temperance League the following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President, the Rev. F. J. Parker; vice-president, Mr. J. W. • Lopdell; hon. secretary, Mr. Alexander Gerrie; hon. treasurer, Mr. Fred Donaldson. A number of important local matters were discussed, and the question of the appointment of a Royal Commission to enquire into all the aspects of the liquor traffic were also under review.
