REMANDED
Charged at the Lower Hutt Magistrate's Court last week with failure to comply with an order of the Lower Hutt Manpower Officer 'directing him lo"work at the Wellington Woollen Mills at Petone as from March 28, 1944, John Hogan was remanded fur two weeks at. the request of the prosecution by Mr W. C. Hurley, S.M. Mr Hogan who was represented by Mr E. F. Rothwell, was stated to be absent on a lecture tour, and did not appear.
The charge was niarle Under "Regulation 45 of, the Industrial. Man-pow-er Emergency Regulations'. ' MV W. R. Barks applied for the remand oti behalf of the-''National Service Department, and no objection was made on behalf of the defendant.
