the axminster and the little rugs "lilies" said the big Axminster, chuckling in his pile. "What use are rugsl" ''You'll see," said little rugs, raging at the insult. "You'll see." ■<,; Well, the Ax-mi lister was laid, and people walked on one part of him and chairs scraped another part of him, and sparks and cinders singed that part of him near the fireplace. And, after a couple of years of walking, and scraping, and scorching, the lady of his house said "that carpet's wearing in places. As I can't get another I'd better see Scoullars." Well, Scoullars took the Axminster up and took it to pieces, and remade it so that the worn places went under the sideboards and things. And the lady bought some little rugs; one to go by the fireplace, and one by each door and one where the chairs scraped. And the big Axminster looked good again he said, "Little rugs, I'm grateful to you," and the little rugs said, "We told you so." \ So that's the way to save carpets in war-time. Use Scoullar's carpet renovation and remaking service, and use little rugs to take the wear. By the way, we are showing a splendid selection of small bathroom mats in pastel colourings. They are only 4/G each. And don't forget to use the new Health Postage stamps on all your letters.
