WATERLOO SCHOOL

The Waterloo School Committee held a most successful! series of events during the week-end for the purpose of raising funds to px-ovide the school with a two-nurse Dental Clinic. On Friday evening a most interesting Flower Show was opened by Mr. C. G. Srimgeour who was introduced by the chairman of the school committee, Mr. J. D. Smith. Other speakers were Mr. W. V. Dyer, chair man of the Wellington Education Board and the headmaster, Mr. Olson. The Show, which was judged by Mr. E. Anstis, provided some 500 exhibits of a most interesting charr acter. The exhibits of vegetables and those in the' children's section, were outstanding features: of the Show. Special displays were made by Messrs H. Poolle. and R. Boyes. The Hutt Valley Memorial Technical College Boys' Band v under the direction of Mr. Arnold Kaye, provided a fine programme of music throughout the evening.

Saturday afternoon the grounds were thronged with interested visitors to the Garden Fete which proved to be an outstanding success. The Municipal Band was in attendance under the baton of Mr. Arnold Kaye.

The finals of the school sports provided many interesting contests, and a special Dental Display provided by dental nurses proved most interesting and instructive. Well-

laden stalls were well patronised and the games and competitions provided amusement for young and old. "Mascar" the magician, delighted •everybody with his mystery performance.
