ST. STEPHEN'S WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION

The opening meeting for 194J of St Stephen's Women's Association brought together a large gathering of members after several weeks' recess. The president, Miss Ethel Steele, extended a very hearty welcome to all, spcially two new members expressing the hope that all were in good heart, and ready for another year of much activity. The hall was gay with a profusion of beautiful flowers showing the interest taken in the home garden. Mrs. A. Marshall gave a talk on gardening witfi suggestions for picking "and extending the life of cut blooms. A competition for the best flower from the garden was won by Mrs. L, Meade; Miss Allen gaining first place for a shoulder spray, and Miss 'Feist the prize for the best decorated vase. During the afternoon Mrs GJennie entertained with a bracket of songs accompanied by Mrs. Barron, botl ladies receiving dainty shoulder sprays. A delicious afternoon lea Was served and very much enjoyed, the hostesses being Mesdames Boyd anT Browning, (conveners), DalgJirsJi, Drysdale, Ferguson, L. W. Ferguson Deal, Dodgson, Cole and Cully.
