"The Convoy"
There are many ships in the harbour today, They have come to escort the soldiers away; Sombre and gaunt they appear from the shore, Emblems of a world at war. Their guns protrude in a menacing way--The guns of the ships in the harbour to da j'. Oh! when will the ships be merchantmen? Free to traverse the seas* again— Carrying goods in place of guns— Merchandise—instead of our sons. Many a heart feels sad and gray. Because of those shTps in ..«e harbour today. —N. 13., Lower Hutt..
