CHILDREN'S SPECIAL SERVICE

A service of outstanding interest was held on Sunday in the King George Theatre especially for children, when Dr. J. M. Laird, director of the Children's Special Service Mission, Wellington, was the speaker, telling- the story of "Pilgrim's Progress," with the aid of a wonder ful set of coloured slides. Hundreds of children thoroughly enjoyed the "story, the slides, and the special chorus singing. This service was oragamsed and arranged by the Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A. as part of the big Creative Leisure Campaign taking place during uie present school holidays. The supervised holiday programme is not only popular with the children but with parents, particularly those who are engaged in war work. Dr. Laird showed and told oilly half the story on Sunday. Christian had reached the end of the "Valley of the Shadow of Death." This will be concluded i)ext Sunday at 2.00 p.m in. the Kjing George Theatre. The boys and girls are eagerly looking forward to the : rest of the slides showing "Christian" as lie reaches the Celestial City. "Be early next Sunday to take part in another happy service for all children. The Hutt Valley is privileged to have such an outstanding specialist in children's work taking part in this holiday programme. Parents are advised to make certain their children do not miss the opportunity next Sunday.
