<$> ANxVAL mixtixu The twentieth annual meeting of the Lower Hutt Branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Plunket Honiiui on Tuesday evening of last week, the mayor Mr. J. W. Andrews presiding. In moving the adoption of the annual report Mr. An drown commended the society on the excellence of its work and pair tribute to the useful work bein: carried on by the Mothers' Club, lit also expressed appreciation for th< services being rendered bv Mrs. ■Jraighead who had undertaken the work of secretary during Mrs. Cam eron's illness. The report slated that. 110 babies were transferred from other districts to Lower Hutt during the year, and that 9 3 per cent of the babies born In the -district have been under Plunket supervision. An interesting address on the ' 'Importance of Play to the Child was given by Dr. M. P. Buchler. and on the motion of the president. Dr.. Buchler was warmly thanked foi her interesting talk.
