$ Mrs Summers presided over the June meeting of the Srokes Valley Women's Institute, and members expressed the wish that Mrs. Combe, the president, would soon be restored to good health after her recent illness. The competition for best plain scones was won by Mis Allan with Mrs Kay second. Mrs, Small showed the best potato, thus holding the cup for the month. An interesting afternoon included a luing and Uuy for funds and vvs well patronised.
