HOSPITALITY FOR SOLDIERS ! The Sunday tea at the Wellington Y.M.C.A was hostessed by members of the Waterloo branch of the Y.M.C.A. Ladies' Auxiliary, under the presidency of Mrs. J. W. Andrews, and as a result of previous efforts to raise funds for the pur-: pose, this energetic body of ladies were able to adequately supply and dispense hospitality to one hundred and twenty men of the services on leave in Wellington. Air. W. Careywas chairman for the evening and he was accompanied by Mrs Carey. Special guests were Airs. (5 room and Mi'. C. S. Falconer. A concert, which won much applause was given by Alisses Olga Curton and Janet Reynolds (songs), Aliss Ruth Reid (violin solo). Miss Monica Hell (elocutionary items). Miss Nora Cray accompanied at the piano and Ah - . H. llindle was the community song leader, with Mr. W. Mann at the piano. ()Iil)-TI.MK DANCE The Ladies' Auxiliary will conduct another of those popular functions now provided by the Y.M.C.A. at liirch Street, Waterloo, on Saturday next, 18th April, and patrons are assured of a very happy evening and friendly atmosphere. Last Saturday many dancers succeeded in mastering the steps of the Empire Schottisehe for the first time, and this week ,a demonstration of the "Society Foxtrot" and an opportunity for all to try the various movements should prove of interest to all dancers. JIMIJLE SALE AM) SALE OF WORK A jumble sale and sale of work, in aid of the funds of the Ladies' Auxiliary will be held in the Y.M.C.A. Cuba Street. Petone, on Friday, 17th April and commencing at 10 a.m. The Ladies' Auxiliary have been working hard to make this function a success, and a stall
of new goods, including children's clothing, aprons, etc., should prove of interest to those friends who attended the bazaar last year and remember the bargains obtained then. Home-made cakes, jams, and pickles 1 will also be on sale. The Ladies' Auxiliary cordially invites the public to come along and support this effort for a worthy cause. LADIES' AUXILIARY There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the Waterloo Y.M.C A. Ladies' Auxiliary. Mrs Andrews presided, and opened the meeting with the Auxiliary Prayer. Commencing on Wednesday, 22nd April, a weekly sewing circle will be held at the liireh Street; Hall. Mrs. Hills has consented to be lea convenor in place of Mis Langliani. - As the date fixed fof' the next Auxiliary dance would fall 011 Anzac Day, it was decided to hold it 011 18th April—a woel earlier.
