CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY TOUR

$ .. AN IDEAL HOLIDAY FOR BOYS With benzine restrictions preventing many from making the customary trips during the Christmas school holidays, it is only natural that our minds turn to other methods of transport to our favourite summer-time resorts, and cycling should prove one of the most popular means of reaching the picnic grounds, or camping site, this year. One rather outstanding tour for secondary school boys and young employed boys has been arranged by the Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A., and it comprises a journey of about 1000 miles spread over a period of three weeks. The route chosen is via Masterton, Palmerston North, and 'Waiouru to Lake Taupo, and then on to Rotorua and returning home via Hamilton, Waitomo, New Plymouth, Wangftnui, Otaki to Wellington. Special provision is being made in each centre visited for accommodation ,at the Y.M.C.A, or some church hall, and regular meals will be provided tor in each town visited. This will mean that the cyclists will be able to* travel very lightly indeed, as very little equipment other than clothes and lil&nkets will be required.

The route chosen should provide * many a thrill to the boys who take part in this lengthy toi/r, and apart 1 from the many scenic wonders, every opportunity will be taken to " see and inspect such 1 as the hatcheries at TofcaaMtt;Nyb: 1 Arapuni electric power ' route. 1 The "cycle tourists" will be un--1 dor the of Mr. C. L. Cato, general Sejjijfgtary of the Hutt 1 Valley Y.M.C.A|i|from whom further information ma#' lie obtained. : k ■ S SOLDIER' PARCELS
