Scouts intend cycling to Eastbourne on November 15th to attend the campflre. My answer is (a) the bus fare will be kept at the lowest possible limit; (b) the Bay& road is very dangerous for cyclists at night, due to lighting restrictions. Will parents please note this ? The campflre team would be grateful for the donation of a few old tea towels. Pieces of old sheeting would serve very well. We cater for about 100 on campflre nights, so washing up is quite a task. We also gratefully acknowledge the donations in cash and goods which have been so generously given by friends. Last Saturday night the walls of St. Augustine's Scout Hall fairly bulged, so large was the crowd, and the rafters literally rang to our songs and choruses. It was Parents' Night, and we were glad to welcome so many mothers and fathers of our Scouts. The campflre team's invitation to the Girl Guides was also accepted, and we believe the large party which came thoroughly enjoy, ed the evening. Welcome, again, to you all. "Minty" and "Arahi" deserve special praise for their arrangement of the hall, also "Kanui," who handled the supper arrangements most efficiently.
