TAITA WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

There was a very good attendance at the November meeting of the Taita Women's Institute, which was held recently. A welcome was extended to new members and visitors by the president, Mrs. Draper. A bring and buy stall, .organised by the Garden Circle, and a sales table of hand-made Christmas toys, the work of the Arts and Crafts Circle, were well patronised by members. It was announced that all the members who had taken up Red Cross work had been successful in passing their examinations. 'iwo items by the choir, "Early One Morning" and "Home, Sweet Home," were much enjoyed, as was also a very interesting talk on "Home Decorating" by Miss Anne Stewart. At the conclusion of her talk she was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and a very hearty vote of thanks was passed.

Tlie competition for the best frock made by a member was Won by Mrs. Dyer, with Mrs. Dawson second, and the prize for the best flower in the garden was won by Mrs. Cooley. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Ray Brown and four lady helpers.
