LOWER HUTT WOMEN'S MISSIONARY AUXILIARY
A line spirit was shown by the audience who filled Wesley Hall on Wednesday night last, to enjoy a "Mystery" Concert, presented by the Lower Unit Women's Missionary Auxiliary, to supplement 'their funds. j Each organisation of the Church pro- . vided a la-minute programme; but did not disclose their items until presented on the stage, thus causing the concert , to be a "Mystery" Concert. Rev. H. T. Peat presided. The stage was artistically decorated with Japonica and: Almond Blossom. The programme was:— Ladies Guild:—Vocal duet, Mesdames Gray and Robson; character dance, Miss Beatrice Taylor, Mr Taylor was the accompanist. Youth Department:—Pianoforte Solo, Mr, R. Milne; elecutionary item, Miss R. Cheyne; Character Song, Miss P. Milne; humorous recitation, Mr. W. Williams. Women's Fellowship:— Story without words, Mr. L. Mult and Mr C. Muir; vocal solo, Mr. T. Surtees. . .Choir:—Two choruses, vocal solo, Mrs. D. Payne; vocal solo, Mr. T. Surtees; vocal duct, Mr Payne and Surtees. All these items were from "Merrie England." Mr R. Horman was the ■accompanist. Missionary Auxiliary: — Character sketch Mr and Mrs Swift Senr., Miss Frances Russell and Mr C. Russell;- elecutionary item, Mr H. F. Lowe; playreading, Mr. Weddekin and Mr Simpson;; conjuring tricks Mr. D. Cole. The final items were missionary tableaux portraying Home and Foreign Mission work. Those taking part were Mesd&ines Wansborough and Sfcotson, Misses Isabel McLaughlan, Rao Russell D. Wansborough, J. Bensfead, the Rev. H.. T. Peat, Mr. R. if. Russell, Masters B. Lambert and J, Peat: The pianist was Mr N, Clarke.
