-The annual general meeting of the St. Stephens Tennis Club was held at St. Stephen's Church Hall on, August 29th. Mr. F. A. Feist presided over a good attendance of members. The annual reports presented showed that the club was in a good financial position and that the standard of play had improved last season. The top dressing of the courts last year was of great benefit to the playing members. Saturday, September 24th was decided on as the opening day for the 1938-39 season. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year, Patron, Rev. I. E. Lopdell. President, Mr. F. A. Feist. Vice-presidents, Messrs H. V. Horlor, H. *S. Barron, W. 0. Gibb, E. P. Hay, A. L. Wall, F. McDonald, Mrs. Lopdell and Mr| Littlejolin. Hon secretary, Mr. J. B. McCallum, hon. treasurer, Mr. A. Gaily, club captain, Mr. J. B. Melville, vicecaptain, Mr. W. J Shearer, lady vicecaptain, Mrs J. B. McCJalluni. Delegates to the Hutt Valley Lawn Tennis SubAssociation, Messrs I. B. MoCalluin, L. V. Fisher and W. I. Shearer. A strong management committee was also set up to further the interests of the Club.
