St. Stephen's Women's Associat'n
8 A special feature of the September meeting of St. Stephen's Women's Association was a competition comprising the best decorated cake, and the best novelty decorated' cake. This was convened by Miss E. Steele who was assisted by Mesdames McMurtrie, Sinclair, Thomson, Young, Misses Allen and Steele. There were a large number of entries making a most attractive and novel display. One which attracted special attention was made in the form of a cottage showing chimneys, windows, and door complete; with two neat little lawns in front, and garden path, shrubs, and garden seat carried out in marzipan. This was- the work of Miss Allen and was awarded first prize in the novelty section. The prize for. the best decorated cake was won by Miss Feist. Miss Williams, who acted as judge was thanked by the President for her assistance and was presented with a dainty posy of spring flowers. D.ring the afternoon, Miss Jones sairg several delightful numbers. Her songs were very much enjoyed and) she was also the recipient of a dainty posy. A delectable afternoon tea was served by the hostesses and a very pleasant afternoon was biought to a close by the siuging of the Association hymn.
