Gearing, reported that weirs had been placed across the stream, which was being skimmed by drawing straw and scrim over the surface. He was quite satisfied the Railway Department was doing quite a lot to remedy the trouble. Permission had been given the Marine Department to cut away the bank of the stream at -the point where the oil drained into the water and -thus remove soil and vegetation heavily impregnated with oil.
