OIL IN WAIWHETU STREAM.
"Although the pollution of the Waiwhetu Stream by oil from the, Railway Workshops may be somewhat less, it is still bad," said the Hutt River Board's engineer, Mr. H. Sladden, in Jiis report to the board on Wednesday. Dr. B. J. Dudley said that when he had been down at the stream recently it appeared to /be quite all right. Perhaps he had seen it on a good day, "The authorities have gone to immense trouble to remedy things," said Mr. iSladden. The Hutt Park Committee had been watching the stream, and 'there certainly had been some improvement.
