CHOIR CONCERT.

■ »> A splendid concert was given last Tuesday iby the Lavroc Choir under tthe leadership of Mrs. W. H. Phillips and assisting artists, in support of St. Stephen's Tennis Club, Lowct Hutt.

The artistic singing of the various part songs by the Choir was heartily applauded. The part song "Softly Shineth the Moon" composed-for the choir (by Mrs. Joye Taylor, Wellington met with an enthusiastic reception.

Miss T." Conlcm and Miss D. Hay delighted the audience with a pianoforte duet "Marche llougroiso" (Kowaleski) as also did Miss Mc-Maon and Miss Gwladys Battersby with a "Slavonic Dance."

Mr. J. B. Macpherson added to the entertainment by some fine baritone solos, and humour was supplied by Mr. Cheyne, Eastbourne, his items being enthusiastically encored.

A coster duet by "Liza" and '"Arry" was veTy amusing <and "Mr. McTavish" was heartily applauded 'for his character song numiber "Jean McNeil.''

At the conclusion of the concert Mr. Feist, president of the Tennis Club, 'thanked the Choir and artists for their splendid programme.
