LOCAL AND GENERAL.
The next meeting of the Lower Hutt 11 ran eh of the League of Mothers will lie held in King George Hall on Thursday, August 8, at - p.m. The speaker will lie Mrs. Knox Gilmer, who will give an address on "Gardening." Miss i>oris Black, the well-known Wellington vocalist, will contribute items. A series of dances in aid of the Lower Hutt Free Kindergarten has been arranged to be held in the Moera Hull on alternate Tuesdays. The first of the .series is to take place oil the loth inst, and. the committee is taking every step to ensure an enjoyable evening, Monte Carlos, lucky numbers, streamers and confetti'will add to the entertainment, while suppers will be provided.
