HUTT VALLEY Y.M.C.A.

» ENJOYABLE AFTERNOON, ' Some time ago a number of ladies interested in Y.M.C.A. work met in the new hut in Cuba Street. This committee arranged an excellent musical afternoon which was held on December ].g, A first-class programme was arranged, these contributing being Mrs. Milhvard and Mrs Willis, and Miss Binnie, songs;' Mrs. S. Carey pianoforto solo; Miss Judy Lewis, recitations, and Miss Finlay who provided incidental music during the afternoon. At tho conelusion of his most interesting address, Mr. Brasted thanked the sixty 'or seventy ladies present for their interest displayed by their presenco at such a function and he hoped that many of them would be keen to take an active part in the work of the ladies' auxiliary, Mrs. Kersley thanked Mr. Brastci for his interest in the Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A. and for giving such a delightful talk. The provisional committee acted as hostesses for the afternoon and Mrs. Carey iwas in charge of the flowers which, tastefully arranged, quite trans* formed the Y.M'jC.A. hall. Mrs. Kersley acted as chairwoman for the afternoon and warmly welcomed all those who were present and asked for their further support. A sum of approximately £3 was handed over to tho association as a result of the afternoon's effort.
