STOKES VALLEY WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
FLOWER AFTERNOON. A very enjoyable flower aftenino - .; was held recently by members of the Stokes Valley Women's Institute, Mrs Hurncy presiding. Miss Black, floriste, gave a delightful discourse on the art of home decoration and also kindly judged the competitions for the best vase of flowers and the best bouquet. Mrs. Fen ton and Miss E. August were declared the winners. During the afternoon the president, Mrs. Husc, thanked Taita and Hutt members for making special efforts to raise funds for the institute. Appreciation was expressed of the kindly action of Mr. Jackson, Taita, in allowing the use of his hall tor the purpose of holding a dance. A dainty afternoon tea was served and the singing of the National Antheui concluded a very pleasant afternoon.
