Sorno time ago Mr Philip Monaghan, 12 Gordon Street, Clydebauk, (England) cauglit thirty-nino mice, gutted thein, and after drying the skins, mado a cap out of them for his little girl. | Mr Monaghan -was about to throw 'away the flesh of the mice, when being !of an ingenuous turn of miud, he decided to try a little experiment. He cooked them along with some potatoes and vegetblos and served tlicm to a visitor. "Paddy" an Irish labourer who ate them with great enjoyment, and declared it was the best meal he had tasted for a long time. According to Mr Monaghan mice taste like hung venison. Their flesh is very clean, he said, and pointed out that this much maligned rodent was, unlike rats, vel-y particular with regard to food, and would refuse a dirty bit of cheese. , J
