He cooked them along with some potatoes and vegetblos and served tlicm to a visitor. "Paddy" an Irish labourer who ate them with great enjoyment, and declared it was the best meal he had tasted for a long time. According to Mr Monaghan mice taste like hung venison. Their flesh is very clean, he said, and pointed out that this much maligned rodent was, unlike rats, vel-y particular with regard to food, and would refuse a dirty bit of cheese. , J
